The second season of DRIVE's Inside quattro GmbH started big with a very cool video shot at the assembly line of R8, which is situated in Neckarsulm, Germany. In this episode you will learn how the most powerful R8 - the V10 Plus - is built.

The video was filmed by Leo Parente, the man who toured the special assembly shop where the R8 comes together. Of course, the assembly line if equipped with all the latest technologies, but many of the car's elements are hand-built.

The R8 V10 Plus is powered by a 5.2-liter, V-10 engine that delivers a total 550 horsepower and a peak torque of 398 pound-feet at 6,500 rpm. When equipped with the S tronic transmission, the R8 V10 Plus sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 196 mph, and when mated to a manual gearbox, R8 Plus goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, up to a top speed of 198 mph.
