Porsche BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition by SpeedART

Do you remember the 997 Turbo BTR-II 650 EVO SpeedArt unveiled back n 2010? Today the same tuner turned its attention to the BTR-II package one more time and came up with a new version. This time around, the kit is called BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition and unfortunately, it is a little bit less powerful than the first edition, but one benefit it that the tuner applied the kit to a convertible model.
This tuning kit pushes the Porsche's engine to 600 horsepower - 50 horsepower less than the BTR-II 650 EVO model. To achieve this output level, the tuner installed its Powerkit III system, a sports exhaust system with a sound switch, 200-cell sports catalytic converter and 84 mm tailpipes. Peak torque was also increased to 590 pound-feet. This represents a significant increase over the base 500 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque delivered by the 997 Turbo.
Next to the extra power, the BTR-II 600 EVO Ultra Edition received an adjustable sport suspension with PASM and air lift for more ground clearance and a meaner appearance.

Porsche Claims There is No 911 or Macan Hybrid in the Works
There's been a lot of talk about Porsche's rumored plans to develop a hybrid version of the 911. The rumor surfaced in early 2014 and brought the prospect of a sports car that could deliver around 700 ponies while being able to run on electric power for a limited amount of time. Better fuel efficiency was also on the table for a scenario that sounded exciting to say the least. However, it seems Porsche is in no hurry to build a 911 hybrid, at least not during the current generation's lifetime.
According to Top Gear, which spoke to an unnamed Porsche spokesman, the Germans aren't planning to bring plug-in technology to the 991-gen 911. With the current model having been introduced less than three years ago, a hybrid iteration is out of the question for at least three to four more years. What's more, the company official added it's unlikely for the generation that replaces the 991 to get it as well, which means another six to seven years without a plug-in 911. That's not to say Porsche is ruling out a 911 hybrid, but it could be a possibility "within the next 15 years." If you're still excited about that 911 hybrid, then you're a very patient gearhead.
The 911 isn't the only Porsche that's not getting a hybrid drivetrain anytime soon. It seems a hybrid version of the Macan is out of the question as well, mainly because the hybrid powertrain motivating the Cayenne S E-Hybrid is too big for the crossover. The company is considering a more compact hybrid system, Porsche hybrid powertrain manager Manfred Shurmann told Top Gear, but "no development is taking place at the moment."
All told, Porsche's hybrid lineup is set to continue with its three-car range, which includes the 918, Cayenne and Panamera, for the foreseeable future.

Well that wraps up another episode of the TopSpeed Podcast. We hope everyone enjoyed listening to us for another hour.

Mark has been driving the Lexus GS350 F Sport, Justin had the only crossover worth buying, the Mazda CX-5, and I was bombing around in the Porsche 911 Carrera 2.
For news we have a full collection of exciting stories. There is video evidence of the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS on U.S. soil, the new Aston Martin Vantage has been spied on the Nurburgring, and we discuss our super cool new renders of the upcoming Corvette Zora ZR1. On top of that, we spend some time speculating about a new Acura ILX, the new Ferrari 458 turbo, and the potential for a Hyundai sports car. We can't forget about Mark, who spent time in basically every SUV and truck you can buy in the States today, as well as his recent drive of the new Toyota Yaris, Camry and Sienna.
Our Questions & Answer section is full of some great stuff from you guys. We get to talk about the potential for Ford to put a diesel in the F-150, the sports car we would buy for under $100,000, what car we would make with the Lamborghini Asterion's drivetrain and we finish with a quick question about video games.

Porsche 911 ANDIAL 3.8 C2S
Established in 1975 in Fountain Valley, California, ANDIAL is more than just a tuning house. While the company may not be as famous as Gemballa or TechArt when it comes to beefed-up Porsches, ANDIAL is a big name in racing, helping the Germans win numerous events. Porsche scored six 24 Hours of Daytona victories, four Pikes Peak class titles, the IMSA GT and Supercar Series championships, as well as the SCCA World Challenge using ANDIAL-prepped engines, which says a lot about the California-based tuner. Now a part of Porsche Motorsport North America, who purchased the historic name in 2013, ANDIAL has also delivered some exciting road-going cars over the last two decades. One of them is the 911 3.8 C2S, which was launched in the late 1990s.
Based on the 993-generation 911, the last of the air-cooled 911s, the C2S is the best example of what ANDIAL was capable of back in the day. Don't mind the lack of visual upgrades, this 911 is about enhanced performance, with all the tweaks operated under the shell. It's a race car in disguise, one you simply can't ignore if you're into true blue sports cars.

TopSpeed Podcast Episode 022 LIVE
Don't forget! This week's show is Wednesday!!! Show starts at Noon (12:00 EDT). This week will be a fun one, I think. Justin doesn't have any weekly wheels, but Mark and I have a pair of awesome machines. Mark was in the new Cadillac CTS and I have been bombing around in a Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid.
When we finally get done with that, there is a whole pile of news we need to cover. Hot Wheels has made a real Darth Vader car, the ATS-V has been spied bombing around the Green Hell, the VW Eos is dead, we have new info on the Polaris Slingshot, there is a new SVT Mustang coming and BMW has made a one-off version of the new i8. If we have time, there is also news about a new supercharged and turbocharged Ferrari engine, a new Mad Max movie is coming, and I want to talk about my time with 4K gaming.
Yeah, it's a jam-packed show and I can't wait.

Porsche 918 Spyder Luggage Set
The Porsche 918 Spyder is an incredibly powerful yet extremely expensive hybrid supercar. Most of us won't be able to buy one, let alone come within arm's reach of it. But for those who have a 918 Spyder to call their own, Porsche has a new 918 Spyder luggage set to complement its hybrid supercar.
The specially designed 918 Spyder luggage set is the work of Porsche Design Studio. Naturally, the whole set was built to specifically to fit the 918 Spyder.
Take for example the trolley, which was designed to accommodate 30 liters (1.1 cubic feet) of goods and fit into the 918 Spyder's luggage compartment. There's also a carbon case that can be installed into the center console of the supercar. That's another four liters (0.14 cubic feet) of added space that can be opened on the passenger's side of the vehicle. A small storage box and two garment covers are also included in the whole set. The box can be fitted into the glove box, while the garment covers hang from a specially designed hanging system that attaches to the 918's carbon-fiber monocoque just behind the seats.
The luggage set carries the same colors of the 918 Spyder, which include Garnet Red-Silver, Onyx Black-Acid Green, Onyx Black-Silver, Mocca Brown-Silver and Mocca Brown-Orange.
Remember, you can't buy the luggage set if you don't have a 918 Spyder. That rules out pretty much all of us.
But anybody who has a 918 Spyder are free to get this set as a nice add-on option. That is if you feel the need to show off your prized ride even more.
According to Porsche's website, pricing for these piece are "available upon request," which translates to "too expensive to ask."

Video: Over 5,000 Horsepower Worth of Porsche 918 Spyders Invade Monaco

Having the chance to see a Porsche 918 Spyder on the road is pretty rare, but YouTube user Marchettino had the opportunity to catch not one, but six of these beasts on the streets of Monaco (AKA the supercar capital). While cruising around Monaco, he stumbled upon a convoy of three 918 Spyder, then when they stopped at the gas station, three more were right behind them. You can only imagine what the six V-8 engines pounding out a combined 5,250 horsepower must have sounded like.
As a reminder, the 918 Spyder combines a 4.6-liter V-8 engine with two electric motors for a total output of 875 horsepower. The supercar can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and up to a top speed of 211 mph.
The model is limited to 918 units and will carry a price tag ranging from 781,155 (about $1million) to 853,155 ($1.1 million) when you also opt for the Weissach package.

Paul Walker Porsche Death Crash Photos
Sad but true, Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker died in a car crash Saturday November 30th when his friend lost control of a Porsche Carrera GT and collided with a telegraph pole in Santa Clarity at 3:30pm. Walker, 40, was a passenger in the high-powered super-car when it spun out of control killing both him and Roger Rodas.

Porsche 911 Turbo S Edition 918 Spyder by ZR Auto

Can't get enough of that lime green Porsche is using for its high-voltage hybrid models? Neither can ZR Auto.
Canadian tuner ZR Auto doesn't always make the headlines. But every so often, the company does find itself making news.
This time around, it's because of a snazzy dress-up it gave the 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S Edition 918 Spyder.
If you remember, the 911 Turbo S Edition Spyder was first unveiled a few years ago to give Porsche customers a preview model of the upcoming 918 Spyder. The former was so exclusive that only people with active orders for the actual 918 Spyder could avail of the special edition 911.
To make this car more unique than it already is, ZR Auto saw fit to give it an interesting wrap that features a predominantly black finish on the body to go with lime yellow wraps that starts off subtle on the front before getting some streaks on the side and finishing off with an explosive-looking rear end that justifies its billing as a special edition sports that's unique among the unique.
No performance upgrades were given, which is a little disappointing, but not enough to dissuade us from giving this ZR Auto-tuned 911 Turbo S Edition 918 Spyder flying marks for overall creativity.

White Porsche 991 911 Rolling on ADV.1 Wheels
Even though the new Porsche 991-generation 911 is still in its infancy in terms of the number of variants which have been released thus far, aftermarket wheel companies have already begun fitting the new series of cars with their lightweight forged wheels with ADV.1 wheels being a great example of this.
ADV.1's Thailand arm recently finished fitting a set of ADV10 Deep Concave wheels to the following white Porsche 911 Carrera. Although no sizing details have been released about this particular set, the larger wheels certainly suit the overall wider and more aggressive stance of the new 911.
The wheels have then been completed in a brushed aluminium finish!
Gemballa Mirage GT Black Edition
German Porsche tuner Gemballa kicked off the year by revealing a Mirage GT Black Edition. Having showed you several of these Mirage GTs including the road test of a Matt Blue Mirage GT, this one is not different from the rest apart from the cosmetics.
The conversion is based on the 980 Carrera GT featuring a 5.7 liter V10, salvaged from Porsche's aborted 2000 Le Mans program, capable of handling up to 16,000rpm. It has a 68-degree V angle, four overhead camshafts actuating four valves per cylinder, a forged steel crankshaft, and titanium connecting rods. The engine develops 650 HP and 630 NM of torque, it's able to do a naught to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 9.7 seconds, the needle rests at a top speed of 335 km/h.

Spyshots: Facelifted 2013 Porsche Panamera
Despite the chances of the Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo hitting the production line are extremely small, various styling traits present on that concept car are set to trickle down into the standard car, in particular the facelifted 2013 model year Panamera.
The new Panamera has already been captured testing numerous times, including on Germany's famous Nordschliefe race track/proving grounds and the following shots confirm some of the minor styling changes coming for the updated Panamera.
First and foremost, the 2013 model will feature redesigned headlights and taillights more reminiscent of those fitted to the Sport Turismo.
Although no official launch date has been released, it's possible the 2013 Porsche Panamera could be previewed at the Geneva Motor Show in March or the Paris Auto Show in September.

Porsche CEO confirms 961 supercar

All we had on the future Porsche 961 supercar so far were rumors of its existence. Now, Porsche CEO Matthias Muller has finally confirmed that the company is indeed working on a new supercar, to be placed between the 911 GT2 RS and the upcoming 918 Spyder. It will be targeting models like the Ferrari 458 Italia.
Muller didn’t offer a name for the upcoming supercar, but it is believed that it will indeed carry the 961 nomenclature. As for its design language, you should expect a mix of the future 918 Spyder and the recently announced Panamera Sport Turismo concept.
The future 961 will borrow lots of technology from the 918 Spyder, including its lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced plastic monocoque chassis. but while the 918 Spyder combines a 4.6 liter V8 engine with electric motors, the 961 will just borrow the 4.6-liter V8 engine. This engine will deliver around 570 HP and will sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds.
This type of performance will come at us with a price of 250,000, or around $400k at the current exchange rates.

Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept

The Paris Motor Show is just hours away and we are starting to get things all ramped up. Porsche announced that it will be unveiling an all-new production concept when the show opens up, only to shoot out the official details a couple of hours later. This new concept is dubbed the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept and is slated to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake.
The concept is supposed to preview a possible Porsche sports car of tomorrow, which would mean that they are not letting go of the idea that spawned the Cayenne and the Panamera: Parents need speed too.
Rumor has it that this model will debut at some point in the 2013 model year, so the concept model that we see here will most likely be almost identical to its production model.
