Lamborghini Aventador Roadster by Novitec Torado
The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster is arguably one of the most powerful drop-top supercars in the world. Needless to say, it's also a popular aftermarket project for some of the best tuning firms in the world. Novitec Torado can lay claim to that distinction, thanks to its affiliation with Novitec Rosso and Novitec Tridente, all of which are part of the Novitec Group. It's only fitting that Novitec Torado's latest program is for the Aventador Roadster and not surprisingly, it's an incredible kit that features comprehensive aerodynamic and performance upgrades.
This isn't the first time Novitec Torado has worked on the Aventador. Back in July 2013, the Novitec tuning division dedicated to Lamborghinis worked on the Aventador coupe and the result was a 750-horsepower powerhouse, photos of which still have a dedicated spot on my desktop.
It's hard to top that kit, but Novitec Torado comes really close with its kit for the Aventador Roadster. At the very least, you don't expect anything less from a tuning group that has built some of the most unique and most powerful programs for Ferraris, Maseratis, and now, Lamborghinis.

Spy Shots: Lamborghini Cabrera Out Testing

Lamborghini Gallardo's successor is rumored to arrive in a concept version at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, but it looks like the company is already testing the production version of the supercar. The car was recently caught testing in hot conditions and it's getting pretty clear that it will get an Aventador-inspired look. From the spy shots, we gather that the prototype will have dimensions similar to the Gallardo.
The successor to the Gallardo is rumored to carry the Cabrera name, which is, of course, the name of a famed Spanish bull. The new Cabrera will bring a series of new features and will be built on the same lightweight, carbon-fiber monocoque as the Aventador, which will make it about 60 pounds lighter than the current Gallardo.
Expect the production version of the Lamborghini Cabrera to be unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The coupe version will be followed by a a number of variants in the years thereafter, including Spyder and the Superleggera models.

Indonesian police add Lamborghini Aventador and Gallardo to their fleet
Indonesian police have added a Lamborghini Aventador and a Lamborghini Gallardo to their fleet. The cars wear the typical Indonesian police livery. It is not clear whether the cars will actually be used in fighting crime or whether they are just for show, however.

Lamborghini Aventador Nazionale
Supercar manufacturers understand what the Chinese market can do for their bottom line so its becoming incredibly important to specifically cater to this market. Lamborghini knows this full well and at the Beijing Auto Show, the Italian automaker is presenting a special edition Aventador called the Nazionale.
The unique Aventador was created by Lamborghini's Ad Personam personalization program, and like every other model that was born from customer customization, the Nazionale is tipped to be as unique an Aventador as Lamborghini has ever built.
One can expect it to be as distinct as the Aventador LP720-4 50 Anniversario that Lamborghini proudly showed off at the Shanghai Auto Show last year. Remember, that model was limited to just 100 units so the Aventador Nazionale could follow in the same path.
Lamborghini hasn't released any details on what the Aventador Nazionale will look like or what kind of power upgrades it could have, but anytime the company makes an announcement like this, you know its preparing something that'll really get a lot of peoples' attention.
More so now in the Chinese market, where these cars fly off the shelves faster than most people can write a check.

Radical design, limited production numbers and expensive price tag is the theme on most of these cars.
Now Lamborghini has revealed the Veneno Roadster for folks who were not able to order the coupe. As far as the specs, it should still have the mighty V12 pushing 700+ horsepower that should be plenty to provide music to anyone’s ears. As a further highlight of its 50th anniversary year, Automobili Lamborghini is presenting one of the most exceptional super sports cars of all time. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is an open racing prototype with an extreme design and breathtaking performance. And it is one of the world’s most exclusive automobiles - not more than nine units will be built during the course of 2014 and sold at a price of 3.3 million Euros (excl. tax).
The Veneno Roadster is extreme and guarantees an intense driving experience - because open means truly open. There is no roof, just a strong rollover bar for optimum safety. The design is focused on optimum aerodynamics and stability through fast corners - with handling akin to that of a racing prototype. Yet it is fully road legal.
With a maximum output of 552 kW / 750 hp, the Veneno Roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds and top speed stands at 355 km/h. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is driven by a twelve-cylinder engine with a displacement of 6.5 liters and is equipped with the extremely fast-shifting ISR transmission with five modes, permanent all-wheel drive and a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units.
The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster brings the aerodynamic efficiency of a racing prototype to the road. Every detail of its form pursues a clear function - exceptional dynamics, optimum downforce with minimal drag and perfect cooling of the high-performance engine. Therfore the Veneno Roadster is unmistakably a Lamborghini; it sticks firmly to the consistent design philosophy of all the super sports cars from Sant’Agata Bolognese. That includes the extreme proportions, as well as the powerfully arrow-shaped front end and the interplay between razor-sharp lines and precise surfaces.
The entire design of the Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has been laid out for perfect airflow and downforce. The front end works as a large aerodynamic wing. The visual division of the rear fenders from the car body is a reference to the world of racing cars and optimizes the aerodynamic flow. The smooth underbody transitions into a substantial diffuser framing the four sizable exhaust pipes divided by a splitter. Large openings serve to ventilate the engine bay and direct airflow to the rear wing. The design of the adjustable rear wing is the product of motorsport experience and extensive aerodynamic simulation to ensure optimum airflow in the interaction of the rear wing with the rear diffuser.
The design of the exclusive alloy wheels is also determined by aerodynamic functionality - a carbon-fiber ring around the wheel rim works like a turbine to deliver additional cooling air to the carbon-ceramic brake discs. The intense paint color “Rosso Veneno” was developed exclusively for the Veneno Roadster, although each single customer will be able to individualize his own vehicle to suit his personal preferences.
The Veneno Roadster is further proof of Automobili Lamborghini’s unique competence in CFRP-based lightweight design. A monocoque made from carbon-fiber reinforced polymer forms the basis of the Roadster. All exterior parts are made from CFRP. The Veneno Roadster meets all safety and registration requirements worldwide, and naturally also incorporates a full complement of safety systems from airbags through to the adapted ESP handling system.
Carbon fiber dominates also the interior of the Veneno Roadster. The carbon fiber monocoque is visible inside the car around the central tunnel and the sills. The two lightweight bucket seats are made from Lamborghini’s patented Forged Composite. The woven carbon-fiber CarbonSkin is used to clad the entire cockpit, part of the seats and the headliner. Like a hi-tech fabric, this extremely fine-looking carbon-fiber matting fits perfectly to any form and reduces the weight of the vehicle.
The systematic, carbon-fiber, lightweight design of the Veneno Roadster is not only visible, it is also evident on the scales: with a dry weight of just 1,490 kilograms (3,278 pounds), the Veneno Roadster benefits from a power-to-weight ratio of just 1.99 kg/hp (4.38 lbs/hp) which guarantees a performance that is nothing short of mind-blowing. Even the stunning acceleration figure of 2.9 seconds cannot adequately describe it. Despite an aerodynamic setup configured for extreme downforce, the Veneno Roadster possesses exceptionally low wind resistance which allows it to reach a top speed of 355 km/h (221 mph).”

Lamborghini Aventador Liberty Walk by SR Auto Group

Up to this point, there aren't a lot of Lamborghini Avenatador programs that can match wits with what DMC did with its Molto Veloce kit. You can make a case for Mansory, but the Swiss tuner is mostly an outlier in the tuning business.
Now, it looks like SR Auto Group has one that can give DMC Tuning a run for its money. Using the iconic LIberty Walk body kit from Japan, SR Auto Group was able to give the Aventador the kind of sinister aftermarket work that only makes what's already a beastly looking exotic even more intimidating.
The two-tone finish given to the Aventador, courtesy of the LIberty Walk body kit, can't be understated because the complementary shades add even more aggressiveness to the Lambo supercar.
With the kit firmly placed, SR Auto Group added the final touches to an impressive body kit, dressing up the Italian supercar with its own brand of wheels, emphatically giving the Aventador a mesmerizing look that's almost impossible to ignore.
Under the hood, SR Auto Group figured what Lambo did was good enough and left the 690-horsepower V-12 alone. This means it retains the base 2.9-second sprint to 60 mph and 217 mph top speed.

Production Version Lambo Urus Revealed in Patent Drawings

Lamborghini has been planning expand its lineup with a new model for quite some time now, but when it comes to a production version of the Urus concept, Lambo CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, reported that we will have to wait a few more years. However, a set of patent drawings from the leak-happy Chinese patent office revealing the production version Urus makes us believe that we could see the SUV on the market sooner than expected.
As you can see, the production version will remain basically identical to the concept version, with the only updates being the exterior mirrors, which seem to be a little bigger than on the concept.
If built, the production-version Urus will be powered by a 4.0-liter twin-boosted V8 engine that will pump out just about 600 horsepower. Previous rumors suggested the model will be offered as a 2017 model year and will be priced from about $200k.

Kuwait Racer Khaled Al Mudhaf Talks About His 24 Hours of Dubai 2013 Experience
Khaled Al Mudhaf from Kuwait took part in the 24 hours endurance race at Dubai Autodrome Circuit for the very first time. He raced with the Dubai-based Gulf Racing Middle East squad in the eighth edition of the Dubai 24 hours and drove a Lamborghini Gallardo LP600 racer. The team included Fabien Giroix, Frederic Fatien and F1 star Stefan Johansson who fell ill and could not participate.
Excited Khaled shared his experience with us;
It was the greatest race I ever did and a real eye opener to drive at night with so much traffic, the closing speed of the Lamborghini was really fast compared to some other classes and this was a big challenge at night. I didn’t have much practice in the car as I went into night practice the first time I drove the car.
This year's edition included 85 cars on the entry list with prestige marques and compact brands competing in various classes, all battling in day and night conditions. As for Khaled's team, they entered under the Number 9, in the A6 Pro-Am class but were moved up into the Pro class after the practice race pace was assessed.
Khaled's car suffered a gearbox failure nearing the end of the first stint and had to be towed back to the pit garage for repairs, one hour later the car was back out in the race. During Khaled’s third and last two-hour stint, in the early hours of the morning with little sleep, he managed his personal best lap time, underpinning his determination behind the wheel of the Gallardo.
Khaled said;
I completed three two-hour stints before we retired the car, unfortunately I also endured three of the code 60s which meant we had to drive at 60km/h through accident zones, and that was a challenge.
I’m so proud to be the first Kuwaiti to enter this race, it’s really important for us as a country to have representation in such events, we have a passionate motorsports culture and I hope many others will follow in my footsteps. This event has given me an opportunity to progress internationally and this year I hope to realize those dreams.
