Hyundai Prius Fighter

Despite the number of the hybrid vehicles introduced over the last dozen years or so, none have really been able to take too big of a bite out of the sales figures for the poster child of hybrids, the Toyota Prius. Hyundai looks to change all of that soon by launching its own dedicated hybrid hatchback, which was recently spied on the back of a car hauler heading to the Arctic Circle for extreme cold-weather testing. Not many details are known about this new model, but seeing the undercarriage reveals the telltale orange cables associated with a gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle.

Although this unnamed model will debut for the 2017 model year as a parallel hybrid hatchback, the lineup (like the Prius) is also expected to grow to include a plug-in hybrid model and different body styles.

Hyundai Genesis AR550 By ARK Performance

Every day we inch closer to the SEMA Auto Show we see more tuning companies coming out of the woodwork to present their SEMA-bound vehicles. Hyundai has been a staple at SEMA over the past few years, and this year, the Korean automaker is coming back with a couple of tie-ins with some aftermarket companies, including ARK Performance.

The two companies have collaborated to present the Genesis AR550, a comprehensive aftermarket program for the Hyundai Genesis. The kit covers the gamut of modifications that includes exterior and interior enhancements, performance upgrades, and suspension improvements. All together, the program turns the Genesis into a bonafide sports sedan.

The looks are standard affair for any SEMA machine. The body kit is outrageous and dynamic, creating a love-it or hate-it visual presence. If nothing else, ARK Performance has made sure that this sedan will stand out in a crowd.

NHTSA probing Hyundai Santa Fe for front axle issue

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating the Hyundai Santa Fe sport utility vehicle (SUV) after receiving complaints that vehicle can suddenly lose power, reports Detroit Free Press.

The agency has two complaints that the right-front axle shaft can fail on 2013 models.

The investigation covers about 50,000 vehicles. Investigators will determine if the problem is big enough to require a recall.

No injuries or crashes have been reported.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe Atlantis Blue

Have you forgotten what huge news it is for Hyundai to offer a rear-drive performance coupe? You are not alone.

Despite all the right ingredients on paper, the Genesis R-Spec is failing to gain the critical praise enjoyed by the Nissan 370Z. Or, sadly, the sales anywhere near the Mustang in its last year before a ground-up overhaul.

A new announcement from Hyundai for the 2013 SEMA aims to put some fire under the Coupe's hood.

After the Legato Concept by ARK Performance, the Veloster Night Racer Concept prepared by EGR Group and the Genesis Coupe developed in cooperation by Bisimoto Engineering, Hyundai will also come with a blue beauty developed in cooperation with John Pangilinan.

This concept version features a very cool Atlantis Blue exterior color combined with a pretty aggressive exterior kit. It includes an APR carbon-fiber splitter and Seibon carbon-fiber side and rear lip kits, new headlights with V-LEDS and ultra-wide custom metal fender flares from TS Designs.

The interior was also updated with Recaro seats featuring custom Katzkin suede and smooth leather treatment, an audio system from Alpine Electronics and a GoPro Hero 3 video camera.

While we have no details on the final output just yet, we do know that this Atlantis Blue Genesis was updated with an AEM cold air intake, ARK Performance exhaust, turbo downpipe, and friction-reducing Lucas Oil.

As a final addition there is a new set of 19-inch MORR VS52 concave mono-forged wheels painted in black and combined with a Brembo Gran Turismo brake kit with over-sized 15-inch calipers.

Full details on the Hyundai Genesis Coupe Atlantis Blue by John Pangilinan will be released on November 5th.

Hyundai ix35

The second-generation Hyundai ix35 (also known as Tucson for the American market) was unveiled in 2009 and this is the first time the company is working on a facelift for it. Our spy photographers have caught the SUV testing for the first time, before the car’s official unveiling at the 2013 Frankfurt Car Show in September.

Even though the SUV is heavily camouflaged, we expect it to feature design elements we have seen on both the Santa Fe and i40. This means we will see a three-bar hexagonal front grille, new headlamps, wraparound taillights and a new rear spoiler. Our spy photographers managed to also catch a shot of the interior, reveling that it will also receive small changes, most likely inspired by previously unveiled Hyundai models.

Under the hood, you should expect some all-new or modified engines to meet the demand for more fuel-efficient engines and less CO2.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe "Cosworth Genesis Racing Series" by Cosworth

Next to the ARK Performance’s Genesis unveiled at the 2012 SEMA Show, Cosworth also unveiled a pretty cool tuning package based on the Genesis Coupe.

Dubbed the "Cosworth Genesis Racing Series," Cosworth’s program for the Korean sports car sees plenty of upgrades, including custom blue bodywork that matches well with the carbon fiber components in the front bumper, the side skirts, and the rear diffuser. There’s also a trunk spoiler in the rear and a new set of custom wheels that finish off the exterior modifications.

Moving on to the interior, Cosworth added a new special steering wheel, a new shift knob, and a shift boot to the overall set-up. The seats have also been redesigned in a two-tone treatment to give the car some added interior flavor. It might not sound as much, but we expect more details to arrive in the coming weeks.

Finally, there’s the engine modification, which appears to include a retuned ECU, a new intake and exhaust system, a new suspension set-up, and new brakes. All told, the Cosworth Genesis Racing Series hits an increased output of 389 horsepower and 325 lb/ft of torque.

"The rear-drive Genesis Coupe is simply a great platform from which to build our ultimate Cosworth Genesis Racing Series street model," Nicole Armbrustmacher, director of marketing, Cosworth Americas said.
