A WCF reader has taken some photos with the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Set to tackle BMW's X1, the GLA will ride on Mercedes-Benz's MFA platform that underpins the A- and B-Class. As a consequence, expect a similar engine lineup which will include a 1.6-liter with 156 HP (115 kW) and a beefier 2.0-liter producing 211 HP (155 kW). An AMG version is also possible, featuring a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine generating about 335 HP (246 kW).

In terms of design, the sporty styling of the A-Class will be borrowed by the GLA, with a prominent grille, sweptback headlights, along with roof rails, tailgate-mounted spoiler and a slightly increased ride height.

Special thanks to Michael for sending the photos!
