BMW preparing six diesel models for North America - report

BMW North American diesel lineup leaked slide 05.11.2012 / VWvortex

Could power everything from sedans to crossovers

We've already heard reports that BMW was preparing to offer a 7-Series diesel in the United States, but an alleged leaked slide has revealed that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Reportedly taken during a BMW North America meeting, the slide reveals the company is gearing up to launch six diesel models. The 3-Series sedan will get a diesel in early 2013 and it will be joined by a diesel-powered 3-Series Touring later that year. 2013 will also usher in a 5-Series diesel and an X5d. The latter model is interesting because the company already offers an X5 35d, so it could imply the next-generation model will go on sale at end of next year.

As for the 7-Series diesel, it is slated for early 2014. It will apparently be joined by an X3 diesel which will go on sale at the same time.
