Tesla CEO Elon Musk has revealed that the company is considering an electric supercar.
Details are limited, but the model would reportedly compete with vehicles from Lamborghini and Ferrari. It would also have to battle other electric supercars like the Audi R8 e-tron and Mercedes SLS AMG E-Cell.
According to Musk, "We will do an electric supercar at some point. It was going to happen right after the Model X, but it is more important to the world that we do a more affordable electric car [first]." He added, "Hopefully, we will get to an electric supercar in four to five years."
