General Motors has revealed a Pink Chevrolet Camaro pace car at the Atlanta Motor Speedway last weekend, which was used to raise funds for fighting against breast cancer.
The Camaro pace car spent Friday at the track as Chevrolet Racing hosted thirty breast cancer survivors who got rides around the track by Jamie McMurray and Ron Hornaday, Jr. The Pink Camaro had the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer logo and the Pink Ribbon symbolizing National Breast Cancer Awareness Month on its hood.
It performed its safety car duties during last weekend’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series AdvoCare 500 promoting breast cancer awareness. Chevrolet donated $200 to the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides against Breast Cancer initiative for every caution lap; there were 31 laps in caution. The last campaign it had donated $12,800 after 64 caution laps.
