Lincoln to offer premium Revel audio systems, will debut in the 2016 MKX [video]

Lincoln has announced plans to offer premium Revel audio systems in future models starting with the 2016 MKX.

As part of a 10-year collaboration, Lincoln will become the only automaker to offer Revel audio systems which promise to provide "uncompromising acoustics and intuitive technologies."

Lincoln was coy on details but said the two companies worked closely together to ensure the "placement, tuning, calibration and number of speakers are unique to each Lincoln model to ensure superior audio quality and accuracy."

The company also confirmed the system will have three distinct listening modes including Traditional Stereo, Audience (for a concert-like experience) and On Stage for a "surround-sound experience that puts listeners in the middle of it all."

According to Lincoln Global Director Matt VanDyke, “The Lincoln collaboration with Revel is the next step in our commitment to build vehicles that exceed luxury expectations." He added, "Revel is synonymous with the finest home speaker systems, and it’s that exceptional audio experience we want our Lincoln drivers to enjoy."
