John Hennessey tests the 700 bhp Chevrolet Corvette C7 [video]

Equipped with the tuner's HPE700 supercharger kit

John Hennessey decided to go behind the wheel of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 equipped with the HPE700 package.

About a month ago we saw the engineers from Hennessey testing the new Corvette Stingray with 650 bhp and now the company's owner took a 700 bhp version for a quick test drive. The car featured in this video belongs to a client who wanted a carbon fiber splitter and side skirts together with the tuner's H10 alloy wheels which combined are around 17 lbs (7.7 kg) lighter than the stock rims.

The main highlight of the customization program is under the hood where the V8 6.2-liter LT1 engine has received a high-flow supercharger system that has bumped output to 700 bhp (522 kW) at 6,300 rpm. The engine also was equipped with high-flow cylinder heads and a custom camshaft while the air induction system has also been tweaked.

Hennessey is offering other upgrades such as Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, carbon fiber interior components, bespoke leather upholstery, as well as a Penske adjustable suspension and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes.

The American tuner says only 100 units will be built for the 2014MY.
