A new engineering firm called Risden Engineering is preparing to launch their first entry into the sports car market with a heavily modified BMW M6 dubbed the Risden 6R.

The firm was founded by Sean Risden in the United States and their 6R is set to redesign how drivers use sports cars for track use with it designed around the principle of offering owners the possibility to drive the car on the street while also allowing them the opportunity to push the car to its limits on the track.

Although only a few details and renderings of the 6R have been released thus far, with an official debut set for the first quarter of 2013, Risden Engineering has confirmed that the 6R will feature two rear spoilers. The first will be a more traditional fixed, duck-tail spoiler while the second will be a retractable unit similar to the Bugatti Veyron's, aimed at improving traction, stability and helping to reduce body roll.

Additionally, the Risden 6R will feature a host of other aerodynamic body enhancements, fully adjustable suspension and a stripped-out interior to reduce weight. Finally, the 6R is also pinned to receive extra rigidity through the use of an interior rollcage.
