While everyone is busy trying to guess what sort of track monster Aston Martin will unveil at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show under the Vulcan name, the Brits quietly introduced the Vantage GT3 Special Edition. Essentially a street-legal version of the carmaker's GT3-spec race car, this new V-12-powered rig is aimed at the bonkers 911 GT3, with Aston Martin hoping to defeat the benchmark of all track-ready sports cars by means of 600 PS (592 horsepower). Naturally, you don't stand a chance against the 911 GT3 unless you go to fat-camp first, but the folks over at Aston Martin took care of that by shaving no fewer than 220 pounds off the car's weight compared to the standard Vantage.
Of course, the GT3's interior features fewer bells and whistles than usual, but if you fancy race-ready bits, this Vantage has you covered. The big news obviously lies under the long hood, where the naturally aspirated, 5.9-liter V-12 engine roars to the tune of 600 PS, which represents a 27 PS gain over the standard Vantage. More importantly, the updated, race-spec mill sounds downright stunning, obliterating the 911 GT3's as far as decibels go. To find out what I mean, all you need to do is watch XCar's exclusive video of Aston Martin's new race car for the road. Hit the play button above to hear that V-12 engine roar.

If you think that Ken Block's Gymkhana videos are getting a bit repetitive as of late, almost all of them showing the rally driver drifting an all-wheel-drive monster around cones, people, or construction equipment, get ready to watch something a bit different in the footage above. This so-called Momkhana video depicts a mother of two taking her two kids on a drifting joyride in a Toyota Sienna through a suburban neighborhood, and then arriving in style at a Famous Footwear retail shop.
Normally, this would sound highly implausible, but the filmmakers and people in charge of the action had a few tricks up their sleeves. First of all, the driver is not exactly your average "soccer mom," but none other than Shauna Duggins, a stunt woman world-renowned for her work in a number of Hollywood action movies. Also, the Toyota Sienna has been thoroughly modified by the folks at J.E.M. F/X, who among other things also transplanted a 550 horsepower V-8 into the minivan's engine bay.
Last, but not least, if you watch the "Making Of" video you will see that the two children in the back weren't actually in any danger during the shoot, as some of the smokey donuts were done using a smoke machine and a set of caster wheels. Even so, don't try this at home with your family minivan - leave it to the professionals.

Not that long ago, Ferrari released a very limited run of 32 track-special LaFerraris, named the FXXK, as a successor to their Enzo-based FXX. The rather steep price for the Ferrari FXXK was 2.5 million, but that cost also included entry into Ferrari's Corse Clienti customer racing program. McLaren has a similar track-only version of their P1 flagship hybrid hypercar, which they have called the P1 GTR. Now rumour is that the blokes over at Aston-Martin want to get in on the action as well. Watch the video after the break.
Just a couple of weeks before the Geneva Auto Show, Aston-Martin releases a teaser clip scarce of details. This 21 second clip of engine noise and outlines of a racetrack comes to an end with the promise of the reveal of a new car called the Aston-Martin Vulcan at Geneva on March 3rd. Judging by the sound of the noise, it seems to be a V12, perhaps a reworked version of their ubiquitous 6.0L unit found in the Vanquish. As long as we are speculating here, let me put it out there that it would be great if they sourced a racier version of 7.3L V12 from the One-77 project. That, unfortunately, has a very, very small chance of actually happening. Expect there to be many carbon fiber bits, a crazy power output, a massive wing, and probably won't be street legal.
The 2015 Geneva International Motor Show is getting more exciting as more auto makers are promising to debut some exhilarating cars. Make sure you catch all the action here as we will be covering the event March 3rd - March 15th 2015.

During press day of the 2015 Canadian International Auto Show, there were many notable cars that made their Canadian debut at the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto. Thankfully, CarZi.com was invited to watch industry executives give insights to the unveilings of their newest products.

The Americans came prepared as Ford had some exciting metal to show off at their massive display. The 2017 Ford GT is very wide, low, and is ready to take on the best that Europe has to offer. The modern twin-turbo V6 engine replaces the old-school American V8s that were in the last 2 generations of Ford GTs. This new 3.5L TT V6 will make around 600 horsepower says Ford. Also on hand at the Ford display was the Shelby Mustang GT350R. With an impressive Nurburgring time of 7 minutes and 32 seconds, the track special version of the Mustang that is going to go head to head with the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. Moreover, Cadillac debuted their new CTS-V and ATS-V sport sedans that are going to take on rivals over at BMW's M division and the AMG division over at Mercedes-Benz. Getting straight to business, Cadillac called out their German competitors for charging extra for goodies such as Carbon Ceramic brakes while Cadillac will offer them as standard for the 640 hp CTS-V. GM has done a good job of turning brand image around for Cadillac. What was once a company that stood for luxury boats catered to a demographic of 60+ years is now seen as a brand that blends performance and luxury into a well designed package.

While the Americans were stepping up their game, the Germans were not standing around waiting either. Mercedes-Benz came to the show strong with their new AMG GT sports car and the S600 Maybach. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is the 2nd new flagship sports car developed in-house by Mercedes' AMG division after the SLS that just recently stopped production. The AMG GT is smaller than the SLS and debuts the new twin-turbo 4.0L V8 engine that Mercedes-Benz will eventually put in most of their cars. The sleek, sloped roofline makes the car have a silhouette similar to that of the iconic Porsche 911. The S600 Maybach, on the other hand is a big, opulent sedan that revives the Maybach name. This time around, Mercedes-Benz is making the Maybach name a trim instead of making it a standalone brand. Seeing as how the last effort Mercedes-Benz made at reviving the Maybach name, this seems like a better strategy. Moreover, BMW debuted their freshly updated M6 coupe and convertible. This mild refresh subtly updates the head/tail lights and interior. Right next to the BMW display was Porsche revealing the new Cayenne GTS. What is notable about this new Cayenne GTS is that Porsche decided to use their twin turbo V6 instead of the traditional V8 that they put in their previous Cayenne and Panamera GTS. Producing 440 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque, the new twin turbo V6 is more powerful than the old V8, so this should squash any complaints that should arise about power from a smaller engine.

While the Auto Exotica display did not have any new debuts to offer, they did have many eye-grabbing exotics to gawk over. McLaren came three cars strong, with two 650S's and one MP4-12C, with their impressive display. Unfortunately, no P1 ready for display by the time the show rolled into Toronto. Some notable cars that were at the Auto Exotica Booth are the Lamborghini Huracan, Pagani Huayra, Bentley Continental GT, Maserati Alfieri Concept, Rolls-Royce Ghost, and the Aston Martin Rapide. Last but definitely not least, was Robert Herjavec's private LaFerrari on display. This car should warrant enough interest alone for the avid car enthusiast to visit the show. The LaFerrari is truly an Italian masterpiece of science and aesthetics.
The show runs from February 13-February 22, 2015. Tickets for adults to the show are $23 each and $7 for children ages 7-12. This is a show that car enthusiasts and the general public should not miss.

In order for McLaren to properly compete in the exclusive, ultra-expensive track toy market, the P1 GTR is going to have to be as fast and filled with as much lunacy as the Ferrari FXXK. Thankfully not only does the P1 GTR look like something out of this world, it has the numbers to back it up. While the standard road going McLaren P1 has a combined output of 903 hp from a 3.8L twin-turbo V8 that produces 727 hp and a 176 hp electric motor, the P1 GTR takes it a step further by having a combined output of 986 hp. The gasoline engine has a bump of 62 hp and the electric motor has a bump of 21 hp.

The price for this fearsome piece of British engineering is an astronomical 1,980,000, or$3,798,927 CAD at current exchange rates. Even if you have the dough to buy the car, McLaren won't let anyone just purchase it. Firstly, you must already be an existing Mclaren customer and own a McLaren P1 road car. Secondly, you must pass the "individual driver profiling sessions" in order to be allowed in McLaren's P1 Driver Programme.
We can't wait to see the car in the metal during the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show. CarZi.com will be covering the show, so make sure to visit to keep in the loop.
