 BMW M3 Coupe production ends

Last BMW M3 Coupe (E92) 05.07.2013

40,000+ units were made

BMW has announced production of the M3 Coupe (E92) has ended this week.

The outgoing M3 Coupe entered production phase in 2007 and since then more than 40,000 units were sold. An extra 10,000 sedans were delivered, together with almost 16,000 convertibles. The M3 Convertible will continue in production until September.

As most of you know, the M3 moniker will be reserved from now on exclusively to the sedan, while the coupe and convertible body styles will be known as the M4 Coupe and M4 Convertible, respectively. The trio is expected to feature a twin-turbo, six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine producing approximately 450 bhp (335 kW) and 550 Nm (405 lb-ft) of torque. The sedan should do 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

The new M3 will be launched in early 2014 and should be followed by the M4 Coupe and Convertible several months later.
