2014 Mazda6 officially teased

Mazda6 SKYACTIV technology

Mazda has finally released official teasers for the 2014 (previously referred to as the 2013 model year) Mazda6, which will make its world debut at the Moscow International Auto Show next month and will go on sale in early 2013.

While specific details will be released next month, Mazda confirmed that the new Mazda6 "will be the second Mazda to be fully incorporated with SKYACTIV TECHNOLOGY, the brand's proprietary engineering focus on developing fuel-efficient, performance-oriented vehicles as a result of lightweight and redesigned engine, transmission, chassis and body structures."

The new Mazda6 will debut in Moscow with a SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter gasoline engine mated to a SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. The new sedan will also feature i-ELOOP, which is the world's first capacitor-based regenerative braking system. The system is said to improve fuel economy by up to 10 percent.
