Goes on sale next year

Holden has released new details about the 2013 Malibu.

Set to go on sale next year, the sedan closely resembles its Chevrolet counterpart but is distinguished by a revised grille and a unique suspension which was developed exclusively for the Australian market. It will come nicely equipped with passive entry, rear park assist, electronic stability control and the Holden MyLink infotainment system.

Under the hood, two four-cylinder engines will be available: a 2.4-liter petrol and an optional 2.0-liter diesel. Specifications will be released closer to launch but the Euro-spec 2.4-liter petrol produces 167 HP (123 kW) and 225 Nm (166 lb-ft) of torque, while the 2.0-liter diesel develops 160 HP (118 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque. Regardless of the final numbers, both engines will be connected to a six-speed automatic transmission.
