2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG rendered

2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG render

Could be unveiled in Detroit

Khalil Bouguerra has released a speculative render of the upcoming 2014 Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG.

The new flagship variant in the recently facelifted E-Class lineup is expected to make an appearance later on this month during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show. Without any doubt it will get a more aggressive body kit which will include bigger air vents on the front bumper.

Under the hood it will sport a twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter engine producing 550 HP (405 kW) and 531 lb-ft (719 Nm) of torque. It should enable the high-performance sedan to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in less than 3.5 seconds. An optional Performance Package will increase output by at least 26 HP (19 kW) and 26 lb-ft (35 Nm) of torque, while top speed will be raised from 155 mph (249 km/h) to 186 mph (299 km/h).

In the United States, the 2014 E63 AMG will be sold exclusively with 4MATIC, while other markets will receive both variants. AWD version will be about 130 lbs (59 kg) heavier than its RWD counterpart.

Skoda Yeti Laurin & Klement introduced

Skoda Yeti Laurin & Klement - low res - 03.12.2013

Named after the company's founders

Skoda has quietly announced plans to offer a Yeti Laurin & Klement Edition.

Named after company founders Václav Laurin and Václav Klement, the special edition is distinguished by bi-xenon headlights, silver roof rails and 17-inch "Annapurna" alloy wheels.

Interior changes are limited but the model comes nicely equipped with leather seats, gloss black trim and alloy pedals. There's also "Laurin & Klement" door sill plates as well as plenty of special badging.

Engine options carryover with the notable expectation of the entry-level 1.2-liter TSI and 1.6-liter TDI that both develop 105 HP (77 kW).

There's no word on pricing or availability, but we wouldn't be surprised if the model goes on sale shortly.

The R8 V10 Plus also has a 5.2-liter FSI V10 engine but it has been tuned to produce 550 HP (404 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph and additional lightweight components, the model accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).

Moving on, the RS5 Cabriolet has a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter FSI V8 engine that produces 450 HP (331 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the 4,420 lbs (2,005 kg) convertible to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).

Both models will go on sale in the United States this spring and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
