2013 Audi R8 V10
Both models go on sale this spring
Audi has announced plans to stage the North American debut of the RS5 Cabriolet and R8 facelift at the Detroit Auto Show.
First up, the 2014 R8 features revised styling with new LED headlights, a hexagonal grille and restyled side mirrors.
Under the hood, the entry-level model has a 4.2-liter FSI V8 engine that develops 430 HP (316 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. When connected to the new seven-speed S tronic transmission, the car accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h).
Next up, the R8 V10 has a 5.2-liter FSI V10 engine with 525 HP (386 kW) and 530 Nm (391 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to run from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds, before topping out at 195 mph (314 km/h).
The R8 V10 Plus also has a 5.2-liter FSI V10 engine but it has been tuned to produce 550 HP (404 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the extra oomph and additional lightweight components, the model accelerates from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).
Moving on, the RS5 Cabriolet has a naturally aspirated 4.2-liter FSI V8 engine that produces 450 HP (331 kW) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the 4,420 lbs (2,005 kg) convertible to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and hit a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).
Both models will go on sale in the United States this spring and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
