Jeremy Clarkson says Top Gear trio 'could be back'

Jeremy Clarkson has hinted he, James May and Richard Hammond could return with
a new show.
Speaking at a charity
auction for Chipping Norton Lido for the first time since he was axed from BBC,
Clarkson said to the audience "now some of you know there used to be a program
called Top Gear. It was on the BBC". Before auctioning a Top Gear Kung Fu Stig T-shirt, "signed by a former presenter", he also added "we could be back somewhere else. Or
maybe even not somewhere else, who knows?"
No further details are
available at the moment, but about a month ago a report said James May and
Richard Hammond are not willing to film new Top Gear episodes without Clarkson.
As BBC executive reportedly commented, "there is a feeling that it is all of
them or none of them".
No quick fix for Renault piston fault - report
Red Bull Racing RB11 engine cover / XPB A fault with the piston design of Renault's 2015 engine has been identified, according to the French broadcaster Canal Plus.
Problems across both Renault-powered teams, Red Bull and Toro Rosso, marred the French marque's weekend in China last weekend.
Boss Cyril Abiteboul departed Shanghai saying he hoped a fix could be identified and put in place in time for Bahrain, despite the turnaround of mere days.
But the latest news is alarming, as Canal Plus reports that the issue is in fact a fundamental flaw with the actual piston.
Abiteboul is quoted as saying there can be "no solution within the next six weeks".
Ferrari technical director James Allison commented: "Problems with the power unit are the last thing you want, because the production time of the parts is so long."
As for improving the actual lagging performance of the engine, Abiteboul insisted Renault must be wise in spending its remaining 'tokens' this year.
"Engine technology," he said, "is not something you can change overnight after a bad race.
"We have a plan for the use of our tokens this year, so we should not rush headlong into decisions that may not be the best for the long term."
Interestingly, the heat appears to have gone out of Red Bull's earlier stinging criticism of Renault, as the parties knuckle down to improving in 2015.
"As Ferrari has shown, you can turn things around when you have clear goals and direction," team boss Christian Horner is quoted by Italy's Tuttosport.
"If you look at the facts, it is not a great moment for us," he acknowledged, "but Renault is a great company with capable people and a long history of success in formula one.
"At the moment something is not working, but we will help Renault to understand what the problems are -- at the moment this is the highest priority."

Land Rover has released full pricing details for the 2016
Evoque facelift commercialized in UK.
Presented last month in Geneva, the mildly facelifted Evoque
is scheduled to go on sale in Britain this September from 30,200. The
mid-cycle refresh has brought some subtle changes to the front bumper, front
grille, tailgate spoiler along with optional full LED headlights and three
fresh alloy wheel designs.
There's also a new seat look, an updated interior scheme
with revised colors and materials while the InControl Touch packs an 8-inch
touchscreen. The facelifted Evoque has also gained a Gesture Control function
which grants a hands-free opening of the tailgate.
Land Rover has decided to boost standard equipment by adding
power-folding mirrors, heated 8-way adjustable front seats, lane departure
warning, autonomous emergency braking, automatic headlights, rain-sensing
wipers and automatic climate control.
More importantly, the 2016 Evoque gets a new aluminum-made
Ingenium TD4 turbodiesel engine available in 150 PS (110 kW) and 180 PS (132 kW) versions.
The posh crossover can also be had with a powerful Si turbo gasoline engine
rated at 240 PS (177 kW) which enables the Evoque hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.6
seconds and top out at 135 mph (217 km/h).
Starting sometime next year, the Range Rover family will
gain a Cabrio
version and there's also a range-topping SVAutobiography
version being prepared with more high-end features on the inside.

BMW officially denies plans for sub-X1 model; hints at X2, next X3 due early 2018

BMW has announced those rumors about a sub-X1 model are
false as the company isn't working on another entry-level crossover.
Lately we've been hearing a lot of reports about a petite
crossover tentatively named Urban Cross
/ 1-Series
Sport Cross from BMW positioned below the X1 but it turns out these rumors
were fake. Speaking to Motoring at the X5 M and X6 M launch this week, BMW
Australia's head of product and market planning Shawn Ticehurst said it's
not going to happen as such a model would clash with MINI.
He did drop a few hints about a "four-door coupe" version of
the 2016 X1 and most likely the model he was referring to will be baptized "X2"
and will be similar in design to its bigger brothers, the X4 and X6. This news shouldn't
come as a surprise taking into account in June 2012 they registered the "X2" name while in November 2014 they also grabbed the "X2
Sport" nameplate.
As a final note, Shawn Ticehurst went on to say the next
generation BMW X3 is scheduled for 2018 reveal, possibly in January in Detroit or a couple of months later in Geneva.
