Company is considering Maybach verisons of the E-, GLS- and S-Class Coupe

Mercedes S-Class development director Dr Hermann-Joseph Storp has revealed the company could offer additional Maybach variants if the Maybach S-Class is a success.

Speaking at the sidelines of the Los Angeles Auto Show, Storp told Autocar the company could offer Maybach versions of the E-Class, GLS-Class (previously GL-Class) and S-Class Coupe. As he explained, “Maybach is about quality, refinement, comfort and exclusivity – as long as a car has these characteristics, it could be a Maybach."

However, he stressed this is not an "active plan" because the company wants to see how the Maybach S-Class does first. If the model is successful, new variants could be offered but they might take up to two years to develop.
