Ford Mustang King Cobra
Uses a variety of Ford Racing parts
Ford Racing has unveiled the Mustang GT King Cobra at SEMA.
Designed to be a high-performance street and drag strip car, the King Cobra has been equipped with a variety of Ford Racing components including:
- The Drag Pack which includes heavy-duty half shafts and a rear sub-frame kit with pre-installed high-performance bushings to improve traction and put optimum power to the ground under hard acceleration.
- The Handling Pack which includes new rear shocks, a stabilizer bar kit and lowering springs which reduce the ride height by approximately one inch.
- The Super Pack which includes a 2.3-liter Twin Vortices Series (TVS) supercharger, a six-rib belt drive system, an intake manifold, an electronic throttle body, an air inlet system, a fuel rail, high-flow fuel injectors, an air-to-liquid intercooler and a Ford Racing ECU.
Ford declined to release detailed performance specifications but they confirmed the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine develops more than 600 bhp (447 kW). They also said an early prototype ran the quarter-mile in 10.97 seconds at the Milan Dragway in Michigan.
