Suzuki Refreshes Splash City Car

2013 Suzuki Splash

Some four years after the presentation of the Splash, Suzuki has posted photos of the facelifted version of its tall city car on its Japanese website noting that full details on the model will be released during its official launch in June.

The revised model that appeared on Suzuki's website sports some mild visual tweaks, mainly up front with the redesigned bumper featuring a new grille and stretched fog lamp housings, and to a lesser extent, the rear-end with the refreshed tail lamp graphics and the new bumper that gains a pair of faux air outlets.

Interior revisions appear to be limited to new decorative trim and upholstery options.

It is expected that the same exterior and interior updates will be applied to the European model.

Based on a 30mm shorter wheelbase version of the Swift platform, the Splash was jointly developed between Suzuki and Opel, which also offers its own version of the car called the Agila. Both European market models are produced at the Japanese automaker's plant in Hungary.

In Europe, the Splash is offered with two engine choices, a 1.0-liter three-cylinder petrol delivering 67hp (68PS) and a 1.2-liter four-cylinder petrol rated at 93hp (94PS).
