BMW without kidney grille / Theophilus Chin
Kidney grille introduced on the BMW 303
"Automotive manipulator" Theophilus Chin has envisioned 16 BMW models without the traditional kidney grille.
Nowadays, virtually all automakers have their own proprietary styling cues and one of the most popular design trademarks would have to be BMW's kidney grille. It all started in 1933 when the BMW 303 was introduced, a model which also was the firm's first car powered by a straight-six engine.
Now, Theophilus Chin has decided to eliminate the kidney grille from no less than sixteen modern BMW models, ranging from the 1-Series five-door hatchback to the i8 plug-in sportscar. It should be mentioned the kidney grille also has a functional role as it improves engine cooling, with the obvious exception of the i3 and i8.
