Could be introduced later this year or early next year
Volkswagen Australia managing director John White has revealed the next-generation Tiguan will look "phenomenal."
Speaking to Car Advice, White said the crossover will be "totally redesigned" and larger than its predecessor. White declined to go into specifics but said the model will feature more aggressive styling and possibility a third-row seat.
Volkswagen has been testing the model for months and it will ride on the new MQB platform. Three body styles are expected and they will likely include the standard model, a five-door coupe and a long-wheelbase variant with seating for up to seven people.
Engine options remain unconfirmed but previous reports have suggested there will be a 1.4-liter TSI, a 1.6-liter TDI with 110 PS (81 kW) and a 2.0-liter TDI with outputs ranging from 150-184 PS (110- 135 kW).
