Seat Leon Ecomotive live in Frankfurt 11.9.2013
Promise to provide savings at the pump
Seat has introduced the Leon Ecomotive and Leon TGI at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
First up, the Leon Ecomotive is a fuel-efficient model that has been equipped with an engine start/stop system, regenerative brakes and low rolling resistance tires. The car also has a reduced ride height, underbody panels and a tailgate-mounted spoiler.
Power is provided by a 1.6-liter TDI engine that produces 110 HP (81 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the model to average 3.2 L/100km (73.5 mpg US / 88.2 mpg UK) and have CO2 emissions of 85 g/km.
The Leon TGI, on the other hand, uses a turbocharged 1.4-liter engine that can run on petrol or compressed natural gas (CNG). It produces 110 HP (81 kW) and 200 Nm (147 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 10.9 seconds, hit a top speed of 194 km/h (120 mph) and travel approximately 400 km (248 miles) on CNG alone. When the two CNG tanks are depleted, the model can be driven an additional 900 km (559 miles) thanks to a 50 liter (13.2 gallon) petrol tank.
