Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG by Posaidon
Hits 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds
German tuner Posaidon has prepared a massive power upgrade
for the Mercedes-Benz
G63 AMG.
The G-Class never gets old so that is why many aftermarket
specialists are still working on the legendary off-roader which is even more
appealing in the AMG guise. Posaidon is a fine example as they have prepared a
comprehensive upgrade kit for the G63 AMG which in its stock configuration
provides 544 HP (400 kW) and 760 Nm (560 lb-ft) from a twin-turbo V8 5.5-liter
engine.
Posaidon replaced the standard turbochargers with more
powerful ones and they also worked on the air intake system and intercooler.
There's also a custom sports exhaust system, remapped engine ECU and a revised
7G-Tronic gearbox which now has to handle no less than 830 HP (610 kW) and a
torquetastic 1,350 Nm (997 lb-ft).
Despite its sheer size and weight, the tuned Mercedes G63 AMG
will need only 4.2 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h), thus making it 1.2s
quicker than the standard G63 AMG. There's no word about the top speed but we
remind you Mercedes-Benz electronically limits the off-roader to 130 mph (210
km/h).
