Shelby American has introduced the Signature Edition Super Snake.

Set to be offered on 2007-2014 Ford Shelby GT500s, the Signature Edition Super Snake package includes body stripes, badges and forged Weld wheels with Signature Edition center caps.

Interior changes are limited but include a unique plaque and Signature Edition floor mats. There's also a commemorative Carroll Shelby signature on the steering wheel.

Bigger changes occur under the hood, as the 5.8-liter V8 engine has been equipped with a Kenne Bell supercharger that enables it to produce up to 850 hp (634 kW / 862 PS). The car also has a cooling package which adds a new radiator, heat exchanger and aluminum cooling tanks.

Production will be limited to 50 units and pricing starts at $44,995 (excluding the cost of the car).

In a statement, Shelby American CEO Joe Conway said "With production of the current generation GT500 ending, we wanted to commemorate the sunset of an important era. This Shelby truly changed the automotive landscape and inspired the performance competition that continues today. It’s a car worthy of being honored with a very special limited edition Shelby." He added, "The package can only be ordered available for a limited time, so ownership puts a person in a very elite club.”
