Nissan March Rio 2016 Edition

Celebrates the 2016 Olympics

Nissan has taken the wraps off the March Rio 2016 Edition ahead of the car's debut at the Sao Paulo Motor Show later this week.

Set to be an automotive sponsor of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Nissan is presenting the March Rio 2016 Edition which is merely a design exercise as for the moment there aren't any plans to put the car into production. It adopts a white & gold exterior paint scheme, with the latter being used on the lower section of the bumpers, side skirts, mirrors, roof spoiler and alloy wheels.

As you might have guessed, the vehicle is based on the locally produced Nissan March (Micra) and is motivated by a 16V 1.6-liter FlexFuel engine working on either gasoline or ethanol and producing 111 bhp (83 kW). It's enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 9.5 seconds and a 119 mph (191 km/h) top speed.

Developed by the newly established Nissan Design America Rio studio, the March Rio 2016 Edition will be showcased at the auto show alongside the Kicks concept.
