2013 Opel Movano 26.2.2013
Promises fuel economy gains of up to eight percent
Opel has announced a series of upgrades to their Movano commercial van.
First and foremost, models equipped with a manual transmission and the 2.3-liter CDTI engine - that produces 100 HP (74 kW) or 125 HP (92 kW) - now have a start/stop system. This enables the short-wheel base and low-roof Movano combi variants to average 6.7 L/100km (35.1 mpg US / 42.1 mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 176 g/km.
Besides being more fuel-efficient, the van is more capable as engineers have increased the towing capacity of chassis/crew cab and dual rear wheel variants from 3 to 3.5 tons. The Movano can also be equipped with an optional pneumatic suspension which can raise the ride height 7cm or lower it 20mm for easier loading and unloading.
