2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 17.07.2013
Mercedes-AMG Chairman Tobias Moers has revealed the company could offer a standalone sedan that is not based on an existing Mercedes model.
While Moers was coy on specifics, he hinted production of a standalone sedan would depend on whether or not the company can build a business case for the model. However, he downplayed the possibility of basing the model on the Mercedes-AMG GT by saying it's simply "not feasible."
It remains unclear if we'll ever see a standalone AMG sedan but previous reports have suggested the company is working on a Porsche Panamera rival that would be based on the next-generation E-Class and feature unique styling that would distance itself from its platform mate.
