Elon Musk
Described human driving as being "too dangerous"
Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk declared during a tech industry
conference this week that human driving will eventually be outlawed.
Speaking at the NVIDIA GPU conference, Elon Musk described
human driving as being "too dangerous" which is why he believes it will be banned after autonomous driving will become the norm. Speaking
of driverless cars, Musk said a fully autonomous driving system might be
complete in about a year from now and the technology is going "to be the
default thing and it's going to save a lot of lives."
He went on to specify that although the technology has
mostly been figured out, it will take approximately 20 years until autonomous
vehicles will take over completely due to the large number of cars on the roads
today. Musk added on Twitter shortly
after the conference that Tesla "strongly in favor of people being allowed to
drive their cars and always will be."
As a final note, Elon Musk told the audience at the NVIDIA
GPU conference that he always drives his Tesla Model S P85D in "insane mode."
