Mercedes-Benz tuner Carlsson from Germany has named one of its two world premieres expected to show at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. It's the Carlsson SLK 340 based on the SLK and meant for international hill climb racing in the E1 category.
The car was built scratch from the shell and utilizing carbon fiber to maintain low weight, thus the car only weighs 780 kg. The powerhouse features a 3.4-liter V8 engine that develops 610 hp and maximum torque of 430 Newton meters, all that is then mated to a Hewland transmission with a paddle shift.
Its suspension features a 3-way adjustable KW competition suspension to ensure optimum road holding for the race car on the BBS racing wheels sizing 10×18 inches in the front and 13×18 inches in the rear then wrapped with AVON tires. The brake system is made of ultralight materials to save additional weight while support and safety are guaranteed by newly developed racing seats from Fibreworks.
