I have a GoPro Hero 3+ and aside from the Aston Martin DB5 and good Scotch, I think it is basically the greatest thing ever created. I use it to do all of my in-car review videos here on site, as well as every time lapse video you have seen from me. The only real problem with the GoPro, is that it is mounted to what I am driving. If I want an external shot, there are multiple people involved and it can be kind of hassle. But now there is a new thing called the AirDog, and it might just make my list of greatest inventions ever.

In a basic sense, the AirDog is a just a camera drone, a quadcopter. There are dozens for sale all over the internet and they allow you to fly a machine with a GoPro attached to it to get some great aerial shots. With this setup you still need a second person to fly the drone though, so it still isn't very useful to someone who does solo filming like I do. What makes the AirDog special is that it actually flies itself and follows you wherever you go.

It does this thanks to what the company calls an "air leash." This device connects to the Airdog, and then it stays strapped to the owner's wrist. The Airdog will continually follow the leash and stay at a defined height and distance. This gives you perfect aerial tracking shots without the help of another person. It is insanely brilliant. The wrist device allows you to change settings on the AirDog while it is in flight, and it is waterproof and shockproof so you don't have to worry about it.

The project was started as a Kickstarter, but it blew WAY past its funding goal and secured more than $1.3-million in funding. The project is off the ground now, and you can place a pre-order at Airdog.com.

First shipments are expected in December 2014.

Video: Nismo Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary

30 years ago, Nissan created its motorsports and high-performance division, Nismo. That was back in 1984. Now, it's 2014, and Nismo is still alive and healthy as can be. Over the years, it's been largely responsible for a lot of Nissan's success in racing, so it's only fitting that Nissan has released a commemorative video to celebrate Nismo's 30th anniversary.

As with all trips down memory lane will show you, the video showcases Nismo's history, beginning with its establishment in Omori, Tokyo, before running through all of its motor racing accomplishments. If you weren't old enough to remember those years, Nismo was a formidable presence in a lot of racing series all over the world. It competed in Asia, and Europe, spread across numerous racing disciplines, including the 1986 Le Mans 24-Hour Race where Nismo first competed using the Nissan R85V.

High-level racing success for Nismo continued well into the 90's and in the 2000's. Along the way, Nismo also began expanding its reach by beginning aftermarket work on a handful of Nissan models, none more prominent than on the Skyline GT-R and its eventual successor, the Nissan GT-R.

Congratulations on 30 years of success and innovation, Nismo! We'd buy you a round of sake on us if we could, but since we can't, we'll just raise our metaphorical glasses and toast to more years of success, both on and off the race track.

Geiger Cars is introducing a comprehensive tuning job for the Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray.

The Corvette prepared by Geiger Cars packs a 590 bhp (440 kW) punch from the same 6.2-liter V8 engine which has received an Eaton compressor conversion. Besides the additional 130 bhp (97 kW) bump, torque has also increased by 127 Nm (94 lb-ft) to 757 Nm (558 lb-ft). Thanks to this healthy power boost, the tuned Corvette is able to hit a top speed of almost 199 mph (320 km/h).

Geiger Cars also installed a KW variant 3 coilover suspension which lowers the front axle between 10 and 35 mm while the rear axle goes down by 15 to 45 mm. Other changes include lightweight forged 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels wrapped around in 255/30 R19 and 305/25 R20 tires, respectively.

The whole body kit has been manufactured from carbon fiber and aside from lowering the curb weight it also improves its aerodynamics according to the tuner. It includes a front splitter, left & right side flaps, diffuser, side sills, front grille, rear spoiler and a rear mudguard cover.

The vehicle being showcased in these images costs €113,000 and includes the €15,500 power hike, €6,500 wheels, €3,900 suspension, €6,652 carbon body kit and €6,000 motorsport gold paint. All prices include installation, except for the wide body kit.

Unburned fuel causes Lamborghini Aventador to catch fire during wedding [video]

A small fire started at the rear of a Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 while at a wedding.

Despite setting new low standards in potato-quality videos, the attached clip does show something interesting that happened at an Asian wedding. You will notice a Lamborghini Aventador wrapped around in a matte black foil reversing into a parking space and then the driver deciding to show off his supercar by revving the V12 6.5-liter naturally aspirated engine.

However, it all went sour in a matter of seconds as most likely due to unburned fuel, a small fire ignited at the back of the Aventador and started expanding immediately. We don't know the outcome of the incident but most likely the fire was put out (in a very dangerous and reckless manner) by the guy in the red pants and white coat who used his right foot and hand as a fire extinguisher.

Arriving in Paris early next month

Two official images depicting Toyota's C-HR concept have appeared online prior to the crossover's debut early next month at the Paris Motor Show.

At the beginning of the week Toyota published a darkened teaser image showing the concept's profile and now two fully revealing images have hit the web with the C-HR which according to the company "combines a powerful new design language with an engaging driving experience and a hybrid powertrain."

Little else is known about the concept but chances are it previews a compact crossover set to be positioned below the RAV4. Most likely the production version will have something to do with the prototypes spotted undergoing testing by our photographers in the last few months. The model could be a derivative of the Auris hatchback set to be sold with the "Auris Cross" moniker starting sometime next year.

Full details and more images of the Toyota C-HR concept will be released in less than two weeks at the 2014 Paris Motor Show.

US-only Ferrari limited edition could be an F12 NART Spyder

A new report indicates the upcoming US-only Ferrari limited edition will be a spyder version of the F12 Berlinetta.

We already know Ferrari is working on a special edition model exclusively for the U.S. market and more details are starting to emerge. It is believed the model in question will be based on the F12 Berlinetta but converted into a Spyder. The rumor makes sense taking into consideration in the 60s there was a 275 GTB-4 NART produced in a limited series of ten units and all were sold only through Ferrari distributor Luigi Chinetti.

Coincidentally or not, the rumored Ferrari F12 NART Spyder (or something like that) will also be available in only ten examples and all cars have already been sold for $3.2 million a pop. The vehicles will feature a blue exterior with white stripes as a reference to the colors used by the North American Racing Team (NART).

It is believed that aside from turning the F12 into a Spyder, Ferrari will also upgrade the V12 6262cc engine which in the regular model puts out 740 HP (544 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque.

We will know for sure on October 12 when the mysterious model will be officially revealed during a gala dinner. The very next day, Luca Cordero di Montezemolo will step down as Ferrari chairman and will be replaced by Sergio Marchionne.

Porsche 911 ANDIAL 3.8 C2S

Established in 1975 in Fountain Valley, California, ANDIAL is more than just a tuning house. While the company may not be as famous as Gemballa or TechArt when it comes to beefed-up Porsches, ANDIAL is a big name in racing, helping the Germans win numerous events. Porsche scored six 24 Hours of Daytona victories, four Pikes Peak class titles, the IMSA GT and Supercar Series championships, as well as the SCCA World Challenge using ANDIAL-prepped engines, which says a lot about the California-based tuner. Now a part of Porsche Motorsport North America, who purchased the historic name in 2013, ANDIAL has also delivered some exciting road-going cars over the last two decades. One of them is the 911 3.8 C2S, which was launched in the late 1990s.

Based on the 993-generation 911, the last of the air-cooled 911s, the C2S is the best example of what ANDIAL was capable of back in the day. Don't mind the lack of visual upgrades, this 911 is about enhanced performance, with all the tweaks operated under the shell. It's a race car in disguise, one you simply can't ignore if you're into true blue sports cars.

Mercedes-Benz B-Class facelift unveiled with subtle updates [video]

Mercedes-Benz has published details and images with the 2015 B-Class facelift set to debut next month at Paris Motor Show.

You will need a magnifying glass to notice the styling updates but upon closer inspection you'll see the redesigned front bumper featuring bigger air ducts, a tweaked front grille along with daytime running lights built into the headlamp assembly. One of the main novelties is the availability of LED High Performance headlamps which look different but cost extra and can't be ordered on the Electric Drive version. At the back there are bi-color taillights equipped with LED tech as well as a slightly modified bumper housing trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

On the inside there's an eight-inch free-standing display, 12 colors choices for ambient lighting and the possibility of ordering keyless go at an additional cost. Safety systems include Collision Prevention Assist Plus and Attention Assist that now operates between 37 - 124 mph (60 - 200 km/h) and comes with a five-stage bar display.

In terms of engines, only four-cylinder units are available, starting with the B 180 which packs a 1.6-liter rated at 122 PS & 200 Nm. Up next is the B 200 that has the same engine but with 156 PS & 250 Nm. The B 220 4MATIC uses a larger 2.0-liter delivering 184 PS & 300 Nm to both axles while the B 250 has 211 PS & 350 Nm.

On the diesel side, the base B 160 CDI has a 1.5-liter sourced from Renault with 90 PS & 240 Nm, followed by the B 180 CDI with 109 PS & 260 Nm. Upgrading to the B 200 CDI will get you a 2.1-liter with 136 PS & 300 Nm and is topped by the B 220 CDI which has 177 PS & 350 Nm.

The B-Class Electric Drive is powered by an electric motor generating 180 PS (132 kW) and an instant torque of 340 Nm (251 lb-ft), enough for a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in a decent 7.9 seconds and a 99 mph (160 km/h) top speed. With the 28 kWh lithium-ion battery pack charged, the electric B-Class will do up to 85 miles (137 km) before running out of juice. A full recharge takes three and a half hours when using a 240V charger. If you are in a hurry, charging for about two hours will grant a 60 mile (96 km) range.

Already available on order, the 2015 Mercedes-Benz B-Class facelift will hit dealerships on November 29. In Germany, prices start at €27,102.25 for the base B 180 model. The same version is priced at £22,575 in UK.

The owner of a Bugatti Veyron had the misfortune of running out of gas while driving in Beirut, Lebanon.

About two months ago we saw a prototype of the 2015 Volkswagen Caddy with an empty tank and now the same thing has happened to an entirely different car, a Bugatti Veyron. The fuel gauge needle drops quickly on the supercar taking into account it has a huge 8.0-liter engine with sixteen cylinders and four turbochargers so owners of the Veyron should look at the fuel level quite often to avoid such an embarrassing situation.

The Veyron's fuel pump feeds gasoline eight times faster compared to a normal car and if you drive it at 250 mph (402 km/h) for 15 minutes you'll empty the tank which has a capacity of 100 liters (26 gallons) and takes eight days to weld. Bugatti says their outgoing supercar consumes 17 liters / 100 km (14 mpg US or 17 mpg UK) on the highway and 29 liters / 100 km (8 mpg US or 9.6 mpg UK) in the city. When driven at its top speed, the Veyron consumes a whopping 78 liters / 100 km (3 mpg US or 3.6 mpg UK) or an amazing 5.3 liters / minute.

A successor is coming next year with a rumored "Chiron" moniker and could use a 1,500 PS hybrid system that will likely improve fuel economy, although such numbers are irrelevant for a car of this type.

The already confirmed BMW X7 has been digitally imagined ahead of an expected 2017 or 2018 launch.

Towards the end of March we heard BMW announcing a huge $1 billon investment at the Spartanburg factory in South Carolina where they want to bump annual production rate to 450,000 cars by the end of 2016. The already confirmed X7 will be manufactured exclusively at this facility and is programmed to come out in 2017 or 2018.

Details about the X7 are scarce at the moment but it is believed the seven-seat crossover will be a global model and will ride on the same "35up" platform as the next generation 5- and 7-Series. If this turns out to be true, expect a lightweight construction combining aluminum, high-strength steel, magnesium and carbon-reinforced plastic which in the case of the 7-Series (G11) will enable a diet of approximately 200 kg (440 lbs) compared to the outgoing model.

The US-spec X7 will reportedly be offered with turbo inline-six and V8 gasoline engines along with possible straight-six diesels and a plug-in hybrid setup. Regardless of engine choice, all models will have an all-wheel drive setup and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

We won't be too surprised if BMW is preparing a concept for 2016 to preview the production X7.

Jerry Seinfeld was filmed getting inside and driving off with his brand new Porsche 918 Spyder.

An avid Porsche collector, comedian Jerry Seinfeld has been spotted at Malibu Country Mart in California in his latest acquisition, a Porsche 918 Spyder which in United States begins at $845,000. He owns a wide variety of Porsches, including a 1973 911 Carrera RSR which recently sustained some minor rear damages after being hit by a BMW trying to parallel park.

One of the 918 owners of Porsche's latest supercar, Seinfeld who likes to call himself a "Porschephile" also has a rare 959, a 1959 GT Speedster, a 911S from the "Le Mans" movie (1971) as well as a 1955 Spyder 550 and no less than ten Boxsters painted in different hues. All these cars and many others are found in a former New York plumbing & heating warehouse turned into a private garage after five years and a $1.4 million investment. Back in 2011 he posted an ad for his Carrera GT which he probably sold by now.

Chances are Seinfeld's 918 Spyder is not one of the five US-spec units affected by a recall involving faulty rear axle control arms.

Holden has announced plans to offer a Commodore SS V Craig Lowndes Special Edition.

Designed to celebrate Craig Lowndes' 20th anniversary in V8 Supercars, the special edition will be based on the Commodore SS V Redline and go on sale next month.

The company didn't have much to say about the model but we can see it feature a black roof, hood decals and special badging. Holden also says the model will be "hand-finished and individually numbered by trained technicians at the Holden Enhancement Center."

Buyers will also receive a framed certificate of authenticity, two tickets to a V8 Supercar race and an opportunity to attend a private Red Bull Racing function and tour hosted by Craig Lowndes.

In a statement, Lowndes said “I’ve had a lot of success on the racetrack behind the wheel of Commodores and to celebrate that with this special road-going version is a great privilege. I know fans and customers all over the country are going to love it."

Additional information will be released closer to launch but the company is already accepting pre-orders.

Kia Soul could gain turbo & all-wheel drive variants

According to a recent report, Kia will offer a Soul Turbo.

Citing an unnamed Kia product planner, Automobile Magazine is reporting the company will offer a high-performance Soul with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that could produce 201 bhp (150 kW) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque. The model is also slated to feature a retuned suspension and beefier brakes.

The magazine is also reporting Kia is considering an all-wheel drive variant. Little is known about that particular model but it could use the same all-wheel drive system as the Sportage.

Mercedes-AMG has released a full HD promotional video of the all-new AMG GT.

After hitting a racetrack in Spain, this time the sports vehicle stretches its legs on Austin's Circuit of the Americas. The short clip shows us a stunning yellow example of the AMG GT in action.

As a reminder, the “everyday sports car” comes with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, producing 462 PS (339 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed dual clutch transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.0 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 304 km/h (189 mph).

The S version features the same power plant, but tuned to 510 PS (375 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. Thanks to the added extra power, the model can reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds, while the top speed is electronically-limited to 310 km/h (193 mph).

Porsche Exclusive has finished working on a heavily customized Cayenne S based on the facelifted model and finished in Palladium Metallic.

Porsche launched the Cayenne facelift in July and now the SUV has received the "Exclusive" treatment applied onto an S version equipped with the SportDesign package. It features blackened bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS) and rides on 21-inch Cayenne SportEdition alloy wheels with body-colored wheel arches. At the back there are smoked LED taillights with adaptive brake lights along with a quad sports exhaust setup.

More extensive changes have occurred inside the cabin where there’s an extended leather trim package including leather-wrapped seat centers and armrests finished in a contrasting color. Even the air vents, roof lining grab handles, sun visors steering column casing and PCM surround have been covered in leather while the center armrest features the Porsche crest.

There aren't any mechanical changes so the Porsche Cayenne S facelift packs the same newly developed twin-turbo V6 3.6-liter rated at 420 PS (309 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. Developed by Porsche, the engine enables the high performance SUV hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds when equipped with the Sport Chrono package on its way to a 161 mph (259 km/h) top speed.

It seems Jeremy Clarkson isn't a big fan of this car as he posted on Facebook: "Things I'd rather have include ebola, six elbows and an unquenchable desire to goose the Pope."

2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Configurator Goes Live

There was a lot of panic when rumors about Dodge planning to produce only 1,200 units of its impressive Challenger Hellcat SRT a year surfaced. Fortunately, Chrysler was quick to deny it, leaving the HEMI-powered Hellcat available to just about anyone. Well, anyone who's willing to part with $60,990 for a muscle car, that is! If the Hellcat is on your to-buy list this fall, then it's time you start building it, as Dodge has just fired up the car's online configurator.

As expected, the Hellcat is far from being a Mini Cooper as far as personalization is concerned, but there is a handful of exterior colors and options you can choose from. As far as exterior extras go, Dodge offers a set of 275/40ZR20 summer performance tires for $395, a power sunroof for $1,195, and a Satin Black aluminum hood with functional vents for $995. Inside, buyers have to come up with $695 for a Uconnect system that has more than just AM/FM radio and Bluetooth connectivity. A set of red seat belts will set you back $95, while premium Laguna leather seats will fetch an extra $1,795.

Only two options are available in the drivetrain department. If you're not into shifting your own gears, the standard six-speed manual can be replaced by the available TorqueFlite, eight-speed automatic. The unit costs $1,995. The second option is an engine block heater priced at $95. Dodge also offers plenty of exterior and interior color options. Read on to find out more about that.

Jaguar XE Coupe

A recent report suggesting a coupe version of the Jaguar XE is in the works got us thinking; what would a coupe version of the XE look like and more importantly, what kind of engine will it have? The latter is a question that we don't have answers to, but the question of the XE Coupe's looks was solved by a quick email to our crack rendering team and voila, we have an image.

The rendering that our artist created of the future XE Coupe is based on the sedan model. True to form, our artist delivered with a detailed rendering that looks brazenly like a hard-charging coupe with the intentions of destroying the 4 Series and C-Class Coupe.

Remember, Jaguar has not officially confirmed plans of an XE Coupe, only throwing out that thinly veiled statement of "never say never." Take it for what it's worth, but if you're putting stock on it like we are, this rendering should at least point you in the right direction as far as what the XE Coupe could look like.

When we make it over to the news portion of the show we spend the start of the show discussing the departure of Ferrari's chairman, Luca di Montezemolo and what it could mean for the brand going forward. After that we move on to some Viper talk with the announcement of the new price cut, and we look at our beautiful rendering of what a new Viper Roadster would look like.

We keep up the excitement of new car news with a discussion about how great the new Mercedes AMG GT and Jaguar XE look now that both have been officially announced.

In this week's Viewer Questions we talk about the V-8 engines we think sound the best and we discuss what happens if we get a press car that we don't like. Do we still drive it, or does it sit in the driveway while we enjoy our personal cars?

We finish things up with an Own, Drive, Burn segment that consists of three legendary cars from Nissan's past.

BMW 2 Series Convertible

BMW announced its new 2 Series convertible, including the M235i and this 228i, in September 2014. While the M235i will be the choice of most enthusiasts and weekend track rats, the standard 228i and the 228i xDrive will be the ones found at Whole Foods and Macy's, and will constitute the bulk of 2 Series sales. That's not a bad thing, however, as the BMW's latest drop top checks all the right boxes for topless automotive fun.

A high-strung, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine comes boosted by a twin-scroll turbocharger and is backed by an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters or a six-speed manual. The quick-shifting flappy paddle helps the 228i hit 60 mph in a surprising 5.7 seconds. What's more, the 228i's chassis share many of its designs and parts with the 228i coupe, giving it some street cred right out of the box.

The 228i xDrive brings an extra level of usability to the 2 Series Convertible's lineup. With a normal torque split favoring the rear axle, the xDrive 2 has plenty of sport still in its chassis. However, when the weather turns rough, all four wheels grip the road. The xDrive system even makes itself useful in the dry, helping the 228i xDrive knock a tenth of a second off the 228i's 0 to 60 mph time.

While the now-dead 1 Series may have been the first drop-top contender in the premium sub-compact segment, the new 228i and 228i xDrive take the legacy into the future. If 1 Series 130,000 units sold worldwide is any indication of the 2 Series Convertible's potential success, BMW's latest convertible will have no trouble finding homes.

Deadmau5's Nyan Cat Ferrari 458 Spider garnered a lot of attention and even provoked Ferrari's lawyers to send him a cease-and-desist letter over the car's "Purrari" badging. The legal shenanigans didn't go over too well as Deadmau5 has since removed the wrap and badging in preparations to sell the car.

Nissan recently heard about the news and decided it was a perfect time to offer the artist a Nyan Cat-themed GT-R. While the images are photoshopped, they show a distinctive car that would certainly turn heads.

Company is planning more Range Rovers

Land Rover Design Director Gerry McGovern has revealed some new details about the company's future lineup.

Speaking to Car Magazine, the McGovern said the next-generation Discovery will have "more adventurous" styling than the Discovery Sport. He declined to go into specifics but the model will reportedly be launched in 2016.

McGovern also hinted that we can expect a handful of new Range Rovers. There's no word on when they will arrive but McGovern said they are "probably more radical than the Evoque" and "one in particular looks fantastic." That's not much to go on but the magazine is reporting the company could introduce a new model to slot between the Range Rover Evoque and the Range Rover Sport.

McGovern went on to say the next-generation Defender could have a "utilitarian look" and be offered in a variety of sizes and configurations.

X-Tomi Design has envisioned the recently introduced 2016 Mazda MX-5 in the more appealing MPS (Mazda Performance Series) guise.

It was only yesterday when Mazda introduced the fourth generation Miata and already independent artists are creating digital projects based on the latest roadster which in 2014 is celebrating its 25^th anniversary. One such example is X-Tomi Design from Hungary who is now sharing his vision of a hotter MPS derivative that comes with a beefier body kit including extended side skirts, a rear diffuser and flared wheel arches.

If the wheel design looks familiar, that's because it was borrowed from the Mazda3 MPS and in this application the rims were matched with a lowered sports suspension to create a more aggressive look. Besides applying an apple green paint, the artist also went for a dual exhaust arrangement and replaced the vertical strips of LED daytime running lights with circular ones.

A prototype of the 2015 MINI Cooper Cabrio has been spied once again while undergoing testing.

Seeing camouflage on the upcoming MINI Cooper Cabrio is a bit pointless since the design will be virtually carried over from the regular version, with the obvious exception of the roof which will have a retractable canvas configuration on the open-top model. While in previous spy shots we saw the more powerful S version, this time we are dealing with the regular MINI Cooper Cabrio since it has only one exhaust pipe.

Engine options will likely mirror those of the fixed roof version so expect a 3-cylinder 1.5-liter gasoline unit rated at 134 bhp & 170 lb-ft along with a diesel of the same displacement but outputting 114 bhp & 199 lb-ft. The aforementioned S model will make use of a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbo gasoline motor generating 189 bhp & 221 lb-ft. Later on during the car's lifespan, a JCW version with the 2.0 engine will likely be launched with around 230 bhp.

We won't be too surprised if MINI will decide to show the 2015 Cooper Cabrio a month from now at the Paris Motor Show.

Bentley GT gets covered in concrete [video]

A Russian CEO learned not to park close to construction sites following a mishap which saw his Bentley GT getting covered in concrete.

According to Russia Today, construction workers were lifting a "huge bucket" of cement when it accidently hit a wall and sent the liquid onto the cars below. While the damage doesn't look too bad, the owner says “It's impossible to clean the concrete off the entire body of the car. It needs to be changed. A new body would cost 8 million rubles, twice the price of my car."

Video: Mercedes Models Arrive In The World of Mario Kart 8

Seeing Mercedes models in video games is something we expect to see in Gran Turismo or Forza 5. But Mario Kart 8? Can't say we saw this one coming.

But as it turns out, some of Mercedes' finest models have been included as a sponsored pack for Mario Kart 8 on Wii U. The video above shows such iconic classics like the 300 SL Roadster and the W 25 Silver Arrows mixed in with modern-day offerings like the GLA-Class and the CLA-Class.

It's an eclectic lineup of Mercedes models, but it's definitely an effective way to reach a new platform of gamers that don't play the Xbox One or the PlayStation 4. We've found Mario Kart to be incredibly addicting in the past, and these Mercedes likely won't make it easier to drop the controller.

Mercedes-AMG have released yet another teaser video for their upcoming sportscar which now we know for sure will be unveiled on September 9.

The wait is almost over as the Mercedes-AMG GT will be revealed in less than two weeks, thus confirming a rumor released by German media back in July. The announcement was made at the end of another teaser video, this time talking about the development process which involved no less than 32 months of engineering road tests in 15 countries in temperatures varying from -30 to 50 degrees Celsius.

Someone at Mercedes-Benz or AMG was in charge of measuring the amount of camouflage sheets used and the end result was 2.974 square meters. No less than fifty test drivers participated in the AMG GT's lengthy development during which "0 compromises" were made.

To reiterate, the Mercedes-AMG GT will be motivated by a newly developed twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter rated at 510 PS (375 kW) in the AMG GT-S and 462 PS (340 kW) in the base AMG GT which will be available a bit later. Called "M178", the Euro 6-compliant engine has a dry weight of 209 kg (461 lbs) and will also be used in the upcoming C63 AMG.

Following its September 9 online reveal, the Mercedes-AMG GT will receive its public debut early October at the Paris Motor Show.

Ford has initiated production of the sixth generation Mustang at the Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan.

Scheduled to become a global model for the first time, Ford's all-new Mustang will be commercialized in more than 120 countries from all over the world, including in right-hand-drive markets such as UK, South Africa and Australia. Another premiere is the implementation of an independent rear suspension across the entire range.

Pricing kicks off at 23,600 USD for the fastback and from 29,100 USD for the convertible and initially there will be three engines on offer: 3.7-liter V6 with 300 bhp & 280 lb-ft, 2.3-liter EcoBoost with 310 bhp & 320 lb-ft and a 5.0-liter V8 rated at 435 bhp & 400 lb-ft in the Mustang GT. These will be joined by a more powerful GT350 derivative equipped with a beefier V8 which is rumored to be unveiled on September 19 before going on sale in 2015.

Now that production has started at the firm's assembly plant in Flat Rock, Michigan, it will take a couple of months for the new pony car to hit dealerships as Ford says the model is programmed to go on sale this fall. It should be mentioned there are about 3,000 employees working at the factory in two shifts and in the same location Ford is putting together the US-spec Fusion (Mondeo in Europe) mid-size sedan.

Could be introduced late next year

BMW has been testing the 2016 7-Series for months but it's finally inching closer to production as our spies have caught a prototype with production headlights.

While the lights are partially camouflaged, they are significantly smaller than the headlights used on the outgoing model.

BMW has been relatively tight-lipped about the car but it is expected to ride on the new 5up platform that features aluminum, magnesium, high-strength steel and carbon fiber-reinforced plastic. These lightweight materials could enable the model to weigh up to 200 kg (440 lbs) less than its predecessor.

Under the hood, we can expect a variety of familiar engines but previous reports have suggested there could be a new 4.0-liter V8 and an entry-level variant with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. There have also been rumors about a plug-in hybrid variant and a range-topping M7 or M750i with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 that cranks out 600 bhp (447 kW).

Mercedes has announced plans to introduce the Marco Polo Activity at the Düsseldorf Caravan Salon.

Based on the Vito, the Marco Polo Activity is being billed as the perfect recreational vehicle for young families.

While it's not as luxurious as the V-Class based Marco Polo, the Marco Polo Activity has a folding table, curtains and two electric window vents. The van also has a rear bench that transforms into a "comfortable bed for three people." Those looking for more privacy can opt to sleep in the pop-up roof section which has a foam mattress with "spring elements" for improved comfort.

Under the hood, five different engines will be available with outputs ranging from 88 PS (65 kW) to 190 PS (140 kW). Buyers can also equip the model with front, rear or all-wheel drive.

The Marco Polo Activity will be priced from €38,960 in Germany which makes it significantly cheaper than the Marco Polo which starts at €54,835.

Company offers styling and performance upgrades

AC Schnitzer has unveiled their new tuning program for the BMW 2-Series Coupe.

Starting with the exterior, the model can be equipped with a variety of carbon fiber components including a front splitter, a rear diffuser and mirror caps. The company also offers a roof spoiler, a sports exhaust system and a variety of 18- to 20-inch alloy wheels.

Customers can also order a sport or racing suspension. The latter is adjustable and reduces the ride height by 30-40mm.

To spruce up the cabin, AC Schnitzer offers an aluminum handbrake handle, velour foot mats, alloy pedals and a variety of gear knobs.

Under the hood, the 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine in the M235i can be tuned to produce 380 PS (279 kW). This should enable the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in less than five seconds.

The company also offers performance upgrades for the diesel-powered variants. The 218d can be tuned to produce 171 PS (126 kW), while the 220d can be massaged to develop 218 PS (160 kW). Last but not least, the 225d can be upgraded to 258 PS (190 kW).
